At HouseMD Plastics, we believe exceptional care extends beyond the procedure itself. Hyperbaric OxygenTherapy (HBOT) is an innovative supportive therapy designed to increase oxygen availability throughout thebody and complement the body's natural healing and recovery processes.

What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing concentrated oxygen while relaxing inside a pressurized chamber. Under increased atmospheric pressure, the body is able to carry and deliver higher levels of oxygen to tissues than it can under normal conditions.
Oxygen plays an important role in tissue repair, collagen production, immune function, and the formation of new blood vessels. By temporarily increasing oxygen availability, HBOT can provide additional support to tissues during recovery.
After Surgery
Supporting Your Recovery From the Inside Out
Following surgery, your body requires significant resources to repair tissue and heal. Adequate oxygen delivery is an important part of this process.
When recommended by your medical provider, hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be incorporated into your post operative care plan as an adjunct to support tissue oxygenation and the body's natural healing processes.
Hyperbaric oxygen has established medical applications for certain wound-healing conditions andcompromised skin grafts and flaps. Its use following routine cosmetic surgery is considered supportive andshould not be viewed as a replacement for standard postoperative care.
Your HouseMD Plastics team will determine whether HBOT is appropriate for you and how it may fit into your individual recovery plan.
Wellness & Non-Surgical Recovery
Oxygen. Recovery. Wellness.
You don't have to undergo surgery to experience a hyperbaric session.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may also be incorporated into a broader wellness or physical-recovery routine.By temporarily increasing oxygen availability throughout the body, HBOT offers a unique environmentdesigned to support the body's normal physiological processes.
Non-surgical patients may be interested in HBOT as part of a:
Benefits:
- General wellness program
- Physical recovery routine
- Post-treatment recovery plan
- Active lifestyle or performance-recovery program
- Comprehensive aesthetic and wellness regimen
Our Hyperbaric Chamber
Advanced Technology. Comfortable Experience.
HouseMD Plastics features the Airvida Elite Hard-Shell Sitting Hyperbaric Chamber, a professional hard-shell chamber with adjustable pressure capabilities.
Designed with patient comfort in mind, the chamber features a spacious reclining chair, climate control, internal controls, two-way communication, and an entertainment tablet so you can relax during your session.
Concentrated oxygen is delivered through a specialized breathing mask while the chamber is graduallypressurized according to your prescribed treatment protocol.
What to Expect During Your Session
Your experience begins with a brief assessment and review of your medical history to ensure hyperbaric therapy is appropriate for you.
Once comfortably seated inside the chamber, pressure will gradually increase. Similar to the sensation experienced during airplane travel, you may notice pressure or fullness in your ears as the chamberpressurizes. Your provider will explain techniques to help equalize this pressure.
During your treatment, simply sit back and relax. You can watch entertainment, listen to something, read, or rest while breathing oxygen through your mask.
At the end of your session, the chamber pressure is gradually returned to normal before you exit.
Your treatment pressure, session duration, and recommended number of sessions will be determined according to your individual needs and treatment plan.
Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Right for Everyone?
HBOT is not appropriate for every patient. A medical screening should be completed before treatment.
Certain medical conditions, medications, respiratory conditions, ear or sinus problems, recent procedures, pregnancy, implanted medical devices, and other factors may affect whether you are an appropriate candidate.
An untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung) is an absolute contraindication to hyperbaric oxygentherapy.
For your safety, always provide your complete medical history, current medications and supplements, andinformation about any implanted medical devices before treatment.
Important Safety Information
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally well tolerated when appropriately administered, but it is not risk-free. Potential side effects can include ear or sinus pressure or injury, temporary changes in vision, oxygen-related effects, and, rarely, more serious complications.
Because increased oxygen concentrations also create an increased fire risk, specific safety protocols must be followed, and certain personal items, clothing, cosmetics, hair products, electronics, and other materials may not be permitted during treatment.
Your HouseMD Plastics team will provide detailed preparation and safety instructions before your session.
A More Comprehensive Approach to Recovery
Whether you're preparing for or recovering from a surgical procedure or simply interested in incorporating hyperbaric therapy into your wellness routine, our goal is to provide a comfortable, medically supervised experience tailored to your individual needs.
Ask the HouseMD Plastics team whether Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy may be appropriate for you.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not intended to replace medical treatment, postoperative instructions, medications, wound care, or other treatment prescribed by your healthcare provider. Uses for general wellness and routine cosmetic surgical recovery may not represent FDA-cleared indications. Individual experiences and results vary.
